HOA fence rules in Lakewood Ranch: what gets approved
Most Lakewood Ranch associations allow fencing — with rules on height, material and color. Here is how to get a yes the first time.

Start with your ARC packet
Nearly every Lakewood Ranch village has an Architectural Review Committee. Ask for the current guidelines before you shop — they usually spell out allowed heights, materials and colors.
What tends to be approved
- Black aluminum picket at 4-5 feet, especially on lakefront lots
- Vinyl privacy in white or tan where privacy fencing is allowed
- Fences that stop at the rear setback and do not block drainage easements
What tends to get denied
- Chain link in the front or side yard
- Height above the community maximum
- Colors or styles not listed in the guidelines
Documents we provide
We supply the material spec sheet, color, height and a site drawing so your submission is complete.
Timeline
ARC review is often 30 days. Get the packet in early and build after approval.
